Don’t Be an April Fool for Your Business

Don't be april fool to your business

April 1st. The one day of the year where everyone expects a little bit of BS.

But when it comes to your business?
Don’t be the fool.

Let’s talk about the dumbest things people do in this space—and why a little self-awareness (and a lot of action) can go a long way.

☠️ Chasing Shiny Objects... With No Filter

Listen, I’m not against chasing a shiny object.

The truth? Some “one-off” plays—like the ERC tax credit—literally turned people into millionaires.
It was a wild, rare moment in history, and the people who moved fast won big.

So chasing something new can be genius
If it’s the right time, the right opportunity, and the right fit.

But too many people chase every shiny object.
New comp plan? They’re in.
New product? They’re pitching it by Friday.
New launch? They’re rebranding their entire social media.

You’re not chasing opportunities—you’re just running from discomfort.

💨 Quitting Too Early vs. Knowing When to Bail

You’ve heard the saying “don’t quit too soon.”
And sure—most people give up before they’ve done enough work. That’s facts.

But also?

If you’re 90 days into something, and your gut is screaming that the owner is shady, the tech is garbage, and the leadership is all smoke and mirrors…
Then yes. Quit. Quickly. And trust your gut.

Especially to the women reading this: your intuition is a weapon. Use it.

Blind loyalty isn’t leadership. It’s a liability.

🧠 Analysis Paralysis Will Kill Your Momentum

I’ve seen some of the worst business plans ever turn into 8-figure success stories.

Why?
Because the people behind them took action—before they had all the answers.

Meanwhile, others are still sitting on the sidelines 6 months later, “researching,” and wondering why nothing’s working.

At some point, you’ve got to stop planning and start building.

Get just enough information to ask intelligent questions, then start talking to people.

📉 And Please... Stop Starting Over Every 90 Days

If you’re re-launching your business every quarter, you’re not an entrepreneur. You’re an escape artist.

Consistency beats perfection. Every time.

Most people don’t need a new company.
They need a new routine.
A new script.
A better follow-up plan.
And a longer attention span.

💬 Real Talk from Greg

Look—I’ve been in this game too long to sugarcoat it.

If you’ve only talked to seven businesses in your entire BMG career, and you’re wondering why your income sucks…
That’s not a mystery. That’s math.

But swinging wildly and shoving products in people’s faces without a plan? That’s not the answer either.

You need balance.
You need messaging that fits your voice.
You need a way to handle objections, ask for help when needed, and keep moving.

✅ Final Thought: Bold Moves Aren’t Stupid Moves

This isn’t about playing it safe.

It’s about playing it smart.

  • Take action.

  • Stop overthinking.

  • But also—don’t drink the Kool-Aid so fast you forget to ask what’s in it.

Make your next bold move count.

And please—for the love of business and your future self…
Don’t be an April Fool.
